Gold Coast City Council is in the process of developing
a privacy regime, well in advance of when it legislatively needs
to. In the interim we will protect your information through implementing
the following Terms of Use.
Each member will be allocated their own discreet
user name and password so that they may enter, update and maintain
their organisation's details on the site via their Internet browser
with no need to purchase or use any additional software or hardware.
Gold Coast Cultural Online will have an 'Audit Trail' installed
to ensure that any modifications made to the details held on the
database can be traced ensuring the security of the business information
retained on the site.
No Endorsement of Services or Products
The Gold Coast City Council neither endorses nor
guarantees the quality of any advice or services offered by members
of Gold Coast Cultural Online.
Terms Of Use
Gold Coast Cultural Online is operated by Gold Coast City Council
through the Cultural Development Unit. Gold Coast Cultural Online service is
provided to you subject to the following Terms of Use.
Membership Rules
Eligible organisations are those that are based in the Gold Coast
Local Government Area, and whose core objectives are the creation,
promotion, appreciation or presentation of cultural or artistic practices
or activities.
Cultural organisations encompass the following categories:
- Community Arts Training and Opportunities
- Crafts
- Festivals and Cultural Celebrations
- Galleries, Museums and Heritage
- Government / Peak Body
- Indigenous Arts
- Literature
- Multicultural Arts
- Music
- Performing Arts
- Urban Design
- Visual Arts
Addition of a new category is at the discretion of the Directory
Coordinator.
Your Registration Obligations
In consideration of your use of Gold Coast Cultural Online
you agree to:

provide true, accurate, current, complete information
about yourself as prompted by Gold Coast Cultural Online's registration
forms; and, |
| b. |
|
maintain and promptly update the registration
data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. If you
provide any information that is untrue, accurate, not current
or incomplete or the Gold Coast City Council has grounds to
suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current,
or incomplete Gold Coast City Council has the right to suspend
or terminate your access and refuse any and all current and
future use of Gold Coast Cultural Online. |
You will receive a password and user name upon completing
Gold Coast Cultural Online's registration process. You are responsible for
maintaining the confidentiality of the password and account, and
are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password
or account. You agree to:

immediately notify the Gold Coast City Council
of any unauthorised use of your password or account or any breach
of security; and, |
| b. |
|
ensure that you exit from your account at the
end of each session. Gold Coast City Council cannot and will
not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure
to comply with this Section. |
From time to time you will be sent relevant information
regarding products and services in which you have previously registered
your interest. If you are receiving promotional information from
the Gold Coast City Council and do not wish to receive this information
any longer, you may have your details permanently removed from our
database by emailing us at
cscdc@goldcoast.qld.gov.au
and asking to be removed. Please allow
seven days for this request to be processed.
Gold Coast City Council's Right to Exclude or Remove
Information
Gold Coast City Council reserves the right to exclude
or remove information which it considers contravenes the terms and
conditions of use and membership rules.
Restrictions on Use of Service
You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell,
resell or exploit for any commercial purposes, any portion of the
service or access to the service. In addition you may not use Gold
Coast Business Online in any manner or for any purpose, which is
unlawful, or in any manner which violates any right of Gold Coast
City Council, its affiliated partners or which is prohibited within
the Terms of Use.
Links to Third Party Websites
Gold Coast Cultural Online may provide links to other World
Wide Web sites and resources operated by third parties. The Gold
Coast City Council has no control over such sites and resources
and you acknowledge and agree that the Gold Coast City Council is
not responsible for the availability of such external sites or resources
and does not endorse nor sponsor and is not responsible or liable
for the content, advertising, products or other materials on or
available from such sites or resources. You further acknowledge
and agree that the Gold Coast City Council shall not be responsible
or liable directly or indirectly for any damage or loss caused or
alleged to be caused by or in connection with use or reliance on
any such any content, advertising, products or other materials.
The Gold Coast City Council Proprietary Rights/Copyright
You acknowledge and agree that the service provided
by the Gold Coast City Council and the necessary software used in
connection with providing the service contains proprietary and confidential
information that is protected by applicable intellectual property
and other laws.
Unless otherwise expressly indicated, Gold Coast
City Council owns copyright in the content retained under its domain
name. Other than for the purposes of, and subject to the conditions
prescribed under the Copyright Act 1968 and other legislation, no
part of any material on this Gold Coast Cultural Online may in any form, or
by any means (including electronic, mechanical, micro-copying, photocopying
or recording) be reproduced, adapted, stored in a retrieval system
or transmitted without the prior written permission of the copyright
